Glove City Brew Co.

A brewery brand built on a hometown story.

Gloversville earned its nickname making gloves for the world. Glove City Brew Co. set out to give the city something new to be proud of.

We designed an identity that raises a glass to that history: a badge, a bold name and a glove hiding in plain sight.

A proud city. A brand-new brewery.

A new brewery has to win a spot on the bar and in the neighborhood at the same time.

Craft beer is crowded with clever names and busy labels. A newcomer has to be recognized at a glance on a tap handle, a can and a sign.

Glove City had something most breweries don’t: a name with a century of local history behind it. The brand had to make that history feel fresh, not dusty.

A great name is a head start. The brand decides whether people get it.

Say “Glove City” in Fulton County and everyone knows where you mean. Anywhere else, it’s just a name.

The mark had to tell the story to locals and newcomers alike, without a paragraph of explanation.

Does your brand tell your story at a glance?

Glove-making built this city. The logo should raise a glass to it.

One image, two meanings: a pint with a glove inside.

Four decisions. One clear story.

Every choice in the new identity points back to what Glove City Brew Co. really stands for.

A glove in the glass

Look at the foam: it rises as four fingers and a thumb. The mug becomes a glove, and the city’s history becomes the brewery’s signature.

A badge built to travel

A round seal works anywhere a brewery shows up: tap handle, coaster, can, front window, at any size.

Copper, like the kettle

A warm copper orange recalls brewing kettles and well-worn leather: handmade, inviting and easy to spot on a crowded shelf.

The nickname leads

“Glove City” arcs across the top in bold capitals. The nickname comes first, because the town is the story.

Built to show up everywhere.

One badge for every place a brewery lives: tap handles, coasters, cans, glassware and the front window.

What changed.

The identity gives a new brewery an old city’s pride, in a form anyone can read at a glance.

  • Just another new brewery.Gloversville’s own.
  • A nickname from the history books.A story you can hold in your hand.
  • Busy labels and clever puns. One badge, known at a glance.
  • A local reference.A logo anyone gets.
